デンマーク出身、1981年にRonnie Atkins（Vo）とKen Hammer（G）により結成された、正統派メロディック・パワー・メタルの草分け的存在。
1984年にリリースされた1stアルバム『Red, Hot and Heavy』は、輸入盤ながら日本で大ヒットを記録。あまりの反響から日本盤が後追いで発売されるという、
日本で先に人気が爆発した稀有なバンドの一つ。
収録曲「Back to Back」は、今なお彼らを代表する名曲として愛され続けている。
その後、John Sykesの名曲カバー「Please Don't Leave Me」が大ヒットし、その人気を決定的なものに。
以来、日本での支持を不動のものとし、コンスタントなアルバム・リリースと来日公演を重ねてきた。
2019年にはロニー・アトキンズが病を公表し、バンドは一時活動を休止。しかし彼は治療と向き合いながらソロ活動も継続、見事に復活。
再び元気な姿でPRETTY MAIDSとしての活動を再開した。
そして今―約8年ぶりにFULL METAL JAPANのステージへ帰ってくる！

Formed in Denmark in 1981 by Ronnie Atkins (Vo) and Ken Hammer (G), PRETTY MAIDS are widely regarded as one of the pioneering bands of melodic power metal.
The band later solidified their popularity with their hit cover of John Sykes’ classic “Please Don’t Leave Me.” Since then, PRETTY MAIDS have maintained a loyal and unwavering fanbase in Japan through a steady stream of album releases and successful tours.
In 2019, Ronnie Atkins publicly revealed his illness, leading the band to temporarily suspend activities. However, while continuing treatment, Ronnie also remained active with his solo work and made an inspiring return, allowing PRETTY MAIDS to resume activities once again stronger than ever.
And now — after nearly 8 years — PRETTY MAIDS are finally returning to the stage at FULL METAL JAPAN!
